🎉 Viseu Tech Talks is back for its 8th edition! 🎉
We're partnering with the OutSystems User Groups again to bring together another Viseu Tech Talks!
Join us on May 15th at the xgeeks offices in Viseu for an evening of inspiring tech talks, community networking, and forward-thinking discussions.
This edition dives into AI-enhanced productivity, the importance of low-code skills, and how to connect AI to the real world. 🚀
📅 Date: May 15th, 2025 – starting at 18h30
📍 Location: xgeeks offices, ViseuAgenda
18h30 – Check-in, welcome drinks, and snacks!
19h00 – Event Opening
19h10 – Talk 1: Jarvis: Your Everyday AI Note Assistant for Smarter Meetings
👨💻 Jorge Junior Martins (Software Developer @ xgeeks)In a world where information flows faster than we can process it, note-taking during meetings often becomes a bottleneck — consuming valuable time and leaving behind gaps in understanding. Enter Jarvis: an AI-powered assistant designed to transcribe conversations in real-time, label key moments, and generate actionable summaries on the fly.
Developed during Geekathon 2024 by a team of engineers from xgeeks, Jarvis goes beyond transcription — it enables voice-activated productivity, and keeps your summaries saved for future use. In this talk, I’ll walk you through the problem we tackled, how we built Jarvis, the impact it had, and the roadmap toward making AI your silent collaborator in every meeting.19h40 – Talk 2: Low-Code: The New Literacy of the Digital Age
👨💻Nuno Reis (OutSystems MVP)In this talk, we’ll look at why low-code is becoming the new must-have skill - not for your job title, but for your toolkit. Because in today’s world, knowing a little tech goes a long way.
20h10 – Talk 3: Plug Your AI into the Matrix: Serverless MCP in Action
👨💻 Manuel Tarouca (Team Leader @ Deloitte & AWS Community Builder)At a time when AI systems proliferate, the ability to provide real time, actionable context and let them trigger real world actions becomes ever more relevant. The Model Context Protocol (MCP) connects AI models to systems by providing a simple standarized interface called "context servers" that gather external data or invoke downstream APIs. In this session we will explore how to implement a fully remote serverless MCP server supported by AWS Lambda and API Gateway so that we can connect AI models to the world and keep operational costs at a minimum while maintining highly available tools so that you can "Open a Jira ticket with this error stack trace." or "Order me a Pizza" at any given time from your chat session.
21h00 – Final Networking & Closing 🍕🍻
Wrap up the night with great conversations, informal networking, and maybe even a surprise or two.🎟️ Register now to save your spot: Don’t miss out on this amazing opportunity!
We look forward to seeing you there! 🚀
